Happy Holi!

This year, March 11th was Holi Festival here in India. It is a holiday for celebrating the end of the Hindu year. Everyone gets ready to 'play" by buying different colors. Some colors are made of powder and others you mix with water. We mixed ours in the kitchen. Then everyone goes out side and gets very crazy. Powdered colors and water-colors are flying everywhere!I ran around with one of our neighbors. We got soaking wet with color! Evan guarded our balcony with his "pichkari." Thats a special water pump that shoots really far. The best thing about Holi is that your clothes can get completely soaked and stained - and no one gets in trouble! Pretty cool, huh?

Audrey,
Pretty cool that you get your shirt all stained and that it is OK.

Do you have spring break? My mom is going to NC for a class for four days so it is just the boys for a few days.

I just beat my mom in monopoly for the first time.

Say hi to Evan for me.

We did get 2 days off for Holi and now we only have one week of school left before the end of the school year.
Our break is only 10 days and then guess what -- we will be in grades 2 and 3!
I wish we had Spring break with you.

Mom says you guys are a little early to be dying "easter eggs." She thinks she's being funny.

Evan, why were you protecting your balcony? Do people spray color into your homes? And why didn't you get covered with colors?

Also, mom and I want to know what the purpose of the colors are...

Dad just got Guitar Hero Band for the wii, so we're having fun rocking!

Talk to you soon...
